Day 1 smart points experiment

Before I came down with the flu I was going to show what a week of smart points would look like for me. Well getting sick derailed that. So today I'll start it up again.

I know some people have had issues with thinking they weren't getting enough points.

I do think the less processed foods you are used to the easier it is to do smart points. So anyway here's my day on smart points! I'm definitely not missing out on anything. Even had my glass of wine!

I am allowed 30 sp/day, 28 weeklies and I will use fit points if I need to.

Breakfast: egg Benedict with extra lean ham/poached egg/1 slice of potato instead of the bread and grapefruit 5sp

Lunch: salmon salad in endive leaves, raw veggies, ff vanilla Greek yogurt with berries 4sp

Dinner: Caesar salad with chicken breast 8pp

Other: glass of red wine, kefir for some healthy probiotics and 2 electrolyte popsicles, ff cream for coffees 13sp

I used 30/30 daily smart points
I used no weeklies or fitpoints
So far I've earned 14 fitpoints today

Went on a 40 minute walk as well as walking around the mall

Stay back!

Ugh right after work on Thursday I came down with the 24 hour stomach flu that lasted two days.
Today I've been having electrolyte popsicles, water and some food but not a lot.

Of course it was the day of the snow storm!

Yesterday I had 2 spoonfuls of chicken soup broth, 2 glasses of water and a banana.

The hubs knows when I'm really sick I slept all day and hardly went on the computer :)

I have to work in the morning so I've cooked up some Bob's red mill gluten free mighty tasty hot cereal ready for the morning and also made some of the mini gingerbread muffins to take with me. The last thing I want is to buy anything with sugar at work.

Breakfast: I had a blueberry bagel toasted with light cream cheese 10sp probably not a good choice as it sat heavy in my tum for a long time.

Lunch: 2 electrolyte popsicles 4 sp and water 4sp

Dinner: roasted chicken, low sodium stuffing, low sodium gravy and sf cranberry sauce 5sp

I may have a yogurt later we'll see. I'm not pushing it.

Hope your Easter is going better than mine!

Trusting my choices

Today I go to the once a month meeting where they provide dinner! No idea what it will be but I will make the best choices with what is available.

I did make sure to have a good breakfast and lunch and I still have 14 points left to enjoy.

One thing that is really helping me this week is to stay away from sugar. It creates such strong cravings that it can easily derail and good week.

I will get lots of walking today because I'm walking to Jen's to visit my grandson and daughter, then I'll walk to the meeting and after the meeting I'll walk to the bus depot. Hopefully the weather will co-operate. We're supposed to get snow tomorrow and Thursday!!

Breakfast:
2 eggs, leftover Spanish rice, kimchi, berries and yogurt that's not in the picture 7sp

Crazy people!

Last night on my way home we were almost run down again!! People need to go back to drivers ed.

It was also a crazy day at work. Stove wasn't working and the dishwasher quit on me so I had to wash everything by hand. Ugh

Anyway today will be a better day because I say so :)

I'm doing an experiment for the next week. I'm going to count smart points and see what if any difference there is. I think because I basically eat unprocessed foods that it won't make a big difference but we'll see.

I woke up late so decided to have brunch instead of just breakfast:

Brunch:
2 eggs, extra lean ham, 2 mini gingerbread muffins and salad 9sp

New recipe!
Mini gingerbread muffins

Coffee, cream and sweetener for the day: 3sp

Taking to work: shrimp, raw veggies, 1 Tbsp dressing to dip and regular cheese 7sp

At work: unsweetened non fat Chai tea latte 3sp

Other: 1/4c kefir, glass of red wine 6sp

So today I used 28 out of 30 daily smart points
I used none of my 28 weeklies
