Sometimes you just have to do it!

It's muggy, rainy, miserable on and off all day today!

There were lots of mosquitoes as well. Ugh but I really wanted to get my 10,000 + steps in today. Got her done but definitely wasn't one of my nicest walks.

Then Ralph suggests after dinner we go to the mall to get more steps in :) Works for me. I also received a new badge from fitbit today.

Breakfast: Giant baked chocolate banana breakfast cookie, ff cream for coffee 6pp

Lunch: romaine lettuce, cucumber, 2 Tbsp Bolthouse honey dijon dressing mixed with siracha hot sauce 3pp

Just an all around great day!

I decided I'd meet up with the walking group today. I hadn't met up due to vacation and just generally life getting in the way but today I really wanted to get my walk on!

Stopped at Starbucks first and had an unsweetened, brought my own cream, iced americano. Delish! Unfortunately Jen was busy today so I was on my own.
I love find unique pieces of art in unexpected places.

Then a quick walk through the park and off to the walking group.

By the time I came home I was beat so Ralph and I decided to bbq some hamburgers. Mine with no bun thank you and a delicious salad.

Now I'm put my feet up with a glass of wine and totally happy with everything today.

Weigh in day!


Weigh in day. 
I'm a very happy camper today!
When I weighed in for a challenge I was in I wasn't sure how it would go as I was going on vacation for 2 weeks.
Well when I weighed in for the end of the challenge on Thursday I lost -1.9 lbs.
Today I weighed in on my regular weigh in day and I lost another -2.1.
So in 3 weeks and 3 days I lost 4.0 lbs very happy with that loss!


Today it's a wet and miserable day outside but I still wanted to get some activity in so I walked with my umbrella for an hour! Do what you can!

Breakfast: pumpkin waffles with sugar free syrup and fat free cream for coffees 8pp

Lunch: Caesar salad with light dressing, lemon, parmesan cheese, 2 slices of turkey bacon  4pp

Dinner: salmon, grilled peppers, corn on the cob and rice, watermelon 9pp

Rain rain go away!

I know the farmers need the rain but I love the sunshine!

Then again since I'm working today it doesn't bother me as much as if I wanted to be out all day :) Hopefully it will be nicer tomorrow.

It's funny I always do the same thing on the days I work. I have a big breakfast, light lunch and a light dinner at work. Hey it works for me.

Breakfast: 1/2c egg substitute omelet, 1 tsp oil, 2 lite life turkey sausage, slice of squirrelly bread with a tsp of butter and grapefruit on the side. Fat free cream for coffee although when this carton is gone I'll be using organic 1/2 and 1/2 10pp

Lunch: wanted something quick before I go to work so I use a mix of different cereals although most of it was Nature's path smart bran, peach, unsweetened vanilla almond breeze and I added a few stevia sweetened chocolate chips! 7pp

At work: veggies, chicken tenders with buffalo sauce, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries and a yogurt 5pp

Great news!

I had to go back to my vascular surgeon right before vacation for a yearly test to see how my 2 stents and my other arteries are doing since my surgery 6 years ago.

Today I went to see the results. Thankfully he said because of my lifestyle there has been absolutely no change since the surgery and I no longer need to see him!! Totally happy about that!

After that appointment I went to get a new patio set and a new bbq. Took forever to put the bbq together but dinner tonight was well worth all the effort.

Breakfast: 1 slice of squirrelly bread made into pumpkin french toast with raspberries and sf syrup, fat free cream for coffees 5pp

Lunch: a quick lunch while putting the bbq together. Veggies, blackberries, lettuce wrapped buffalo chicken tenders 2pp

Dinner: 4oz baked potato, broccoli, mushrooms, 1 tsp olive oil, beef tenderloin, 0% plain Greek yogurt 9pp

Off to work

I weighed myself this morning and am happy to say I'm down 1.9 lbs than I was just before I went away on holiday! Absolutely happy with that.

Today is a work day and since I don't usually work Thursdays I'm not sure how busy it will be. Update it was crazy!!

Tomorrow I have a morning Dr's appointment to discuss the test I went for before I went on holiday. That's about the double stents I had to have due to a blocked artery. I will also be going to get an outdoor patio set and setting it up as well as a new bbq. After that I'll be doing a grocery shopping haul. The only thing after that is a good steak and a glass of wine :)

Busy, busy busy!

Sorry I didn't post yesterday but we went to a local museum for 1/2 the day and then we went to a retirement party for the rest of the day!

Today Ralph and I went out biking. First to the library because they had a book for me, then stopped on the way home at the grocery store. Note to self when the library says they have 1 book for you sometimes it's 3 BIG books. Stopping at the store with a backpack full of heavy books then picking up pasta sauce, a squash, cat food etc then biking with it on my back is a great workout! Icing on the cake was that Ralph offered to take his back pack and I said don't bother as I don't have much to get. 

After lunch we were off again to the mall to get some walking in!

Tomorrow I'm back to work.

Whew at least I take some time to take care of myself by planning my meals and getting some good sleep in. As long as I get sleep I can be the energizer bunny :)


Since I followed simply filling for the most part while I was gone I'm going to do points for a while. So you'll see me putting points on my meals for the next week or so.

Breakfast: 1/2c egg substitute scrambled, 2 slices of lite life turkey bacon, spinach, 1 tsp olive oil, slice of Silver Hills squirrelly bread, tsp of butter, 1/2 grapefruit and fat free cream for coffees 7pp

Lunch: veggies, extra lean ham, light cheese rolled in butter lettuce leaves, berries and 0% vanilla Greek yogurt 5pp

Dinner: spaghetti squash, lean Italian meatballs, light pasta sauce, parmesan cheese 6pp

Just another day

I'm missing my Son Alex and his girlfriend Julia already! They are so sweet <3

I slept in this morning so I guess I'm getting back to my usual routine now.

Anyway back to work again today. Hopefully it's another busy day so the shift goes by quickly.

Breakfast: Chocolate raspberry coconut crepes I tweaked a Hungry girl recipe to be simply filling +3pp or 7pp if doing points plus, fat free cream for coffee

Lunch: salad with turkey breast, parmesan cheese, chicken breast, turkey bacon with a Balsamic/olive oil vinaigrette and 9- 34 degree whole grain crisps Simply Filling + 3pp
Since I got up so late I wasn't very hungry before I left for work so I added the chicken to my food to take to work and just ate the crisps and a banana Simply Filling +1pp

At work: whole wheat melba toast, light laughing cow, raw veggies,turkey/ham, yogurt, pineapple and strawberries Simply Filling + 2pp

I'm back!


I had a wonderful  holiday with my son and his girlfriend and my daughter. Lots of hiking, seeing whales from the beach, lots of bald eagles, lots of sea air and a surprise 5 hour wildlife cruise my son surprised us with.

Today back to work and back to normal routine.

I'm going to be trying some new recipes and will be posting them on my recipe blog and making links.

I  have been asked to make it so that people can print out my recipes and I will be looking into that when I finally catch up with everything else.
