Don't know whether I can do better than last week!

Fitbit sent me my weekly stats from last week! Whew no wonder I was tired :) It will be a miracle if I can top that #

Met Jen this afternoon and had an unsweetened iced passion tea and caught up on how she's doing. The pregnancy is going smoothly and I'm crossing my fingers it's born near my birthday! It's actually due on my birthday but you know how likely that is.

After I came home Ralph wanted to go on a bike ride. Halfway he wanted to stop at McDonald's for an ice cream cone. It was really hot out and I didn't mind getting out of the sun for while. I had an iced water.

Tomorrow is W2D3 of the couch to 5K should be interesting.

Breakfast: 1 egg, 2 egg whites, sweet potato, oil, beet greens and grapefruit 6pp

Lunch: took with me avocado with lime juice and chili pepper, peach and coconut cream,  wild coast sardines, veggies 6pp

Dinner:1/2 romaine lettuce grilled, home made Caesar dressing, spaghetti squash and salmon 8pp

Other: unsweetened iced passion tea 0pp xyla sweetener and organic cream 4pp

Weekly weigh in

Sorry I haven't posted for a couple of days but honestly all I was doing was working. Nothing exciting and yes I stuck to my plan and had a great weekend.

So today is weigh in day. This week I'm down:

I used 21 of my 49 weekly points and none of my activity points. Very happy camper today!

This morning the hubs wanted to go on a short bike ride. Well o.k then :) Ended up biking for 25 minutes.

Came home, made lunch and then out on the trails to complete Week 2 Day 2 of the Couch to 5K

Now I'm going to chillax for the rest of the day

Breakfast: Pumpkin waffle with a dollop of plain Greek yogurt and 1/2 tbsp maple syrup 9pp

Lunch: roasted tomato with goat cheese and dill, berries and plain Greek yogurt and fresh mint 3pp

Dinner: liver and onions made with tapioca starch instead of flour, broccoli and butter 7pp

Other: glass of dry red wine and 1 square of 85% Lindt dark chocolate 7pp

Now that was a busy day!

This morning I went to the mall to pick up a few things I needed. Oh and I also went to the grocery store for a few more things!

Came home, grabbed a quick bite to eat before heading out the door to grab a bus.

Got off of the bus early to stop at an office. Then went to a downtown store that just popped up selling produce from local vendors. I think maybe buying a spaghetti squash that I had to lug around in my back pack wasn't such a smart idea :) I also got some rhubarb, pears, lemons, limes, cilantro, cucumber all organic!

After the store I walked to my favorite health food store where I picked up coconut milk, mustard, yogurt and cream. All organic and all heavy!

Then it was off on a half an hours walk to go around a detour to meet with a friend.

Luckily she gave a ride from there to meet Jen for a coffee at Starbucks. After the coffee we went to a local small baby shop for some last minute things. Oh the memories.

Hopped back on a bus home.

Got home and I needed to hop on my bike to go to a store to pick up some keurig pods and a clip that fit on my Keurig 2.0 so that I can get any size hot water and use any pods. Awesome.

Now I'm ready for bed :) Not really but I am ready for a glass of wine, the feet are going up and I ain't moving!!!!

Oops I did it again!

Well it was cloudy with a few showers today.

So I cleaned, did the laundry and caught up with computer stuff.  And then I got bored. I'm not used to not being busy all the time!

I admit I went out and completed Week 2 Day 1 of the couch to 5K running app. It was good. I won't have time to do it again until Sunday so that will be my rest from it.

Tomorrow I have a lot of running around to do so I'll still get my steps in  :)

Breakfast: leftover cauliflower tortilla/fritter, back bacon, egg, cherry tomatoes, olive oil and grapefruit 6pp

Lunch: smelts, steamed broccoli and butter 6pp

Dinner: roast chicken, sf cranberry sauce, salad and dressing 7pp

So tired!

I think I may have overdone it a bit today.

First I decided to do Week 1 Day 3 of the couch to 5K app. I even added some extra walking in at the end.

Finally home and made a quick lunch.

Then I decided I'd bike to the mall and back for a 45 minute bike ride. That was hard. The legs were tired and I really had to push myself. When I got home I had a snack which I don't usually need but today it was definitely a good thing.

Now I'm relaxing and I think tomorrow will be a take it easy day.

Breakfast: mini egg quiches with organic natural cheese and grapefruit 5pp

Lunch: soup made with chicken bone broth, chicken, veggies and blueberries with plain Greek yogurt, walnuts and 1/2 tsp local wildflower honey 4pp

Dinner: pork chop, roasted veggies in olive oil and not show a grilled peach 6pp

Other: raw almonds and 1 1/2 square Lindt 85% dark chocolate, organic cream for coffees and xyla sweetener  11pp

Keep on rolling :)

This morning the temperature was quite a bit cooler with no humidity so I went out for an hour walk.
Knock knock who's there? :)

I also wanted to check out a new store and rode my bike there and back for a 45 minute ride.

Stuck to my menu plan and very happy with my day. My clothes are feeling looser and I definitely have more energy :)

Breakfast: 1 egg, 2 egg whites, fresh basil, beet greens, plantains and butter 9pp

Lunch: cauliflower tortillas that I need to tweak, salmon salad, cherry tomatoes and a peach 7pp

Dinner: chicken thigh with skin, roasted carrots and yellow beans, olive oil 7pp

A great day!

Well today turned out to be a great day!

First I stepped on the scale and I'm down 1 lb this week. I'll take it :)

Then I went out and finished Week 1 Day 2 of the Couch to 5K program. It was hot but I completed it.

I was given a new badge by fitbit.

I tried something new for dinner smelts. They were pretty good and I will be having them again soon.

I stayed within my 26pp!

Breakfast: lemon blueberry oatmeal breakfast parfait 7pp

Lunch: veggies, organic natural cheese 3pp

Dinner: salad, lemon vinaigrette, smelts and coconut oil 5pp

Other: my once a week treat of 1 square of 85% dark chocolate and a glass of dry red wine 7pp

Keeping steady

Today was just another regular day neither bad nor great.

Kicking it up a notch!

I have a lot of energy lately and my exercise has pretty much been going for walks.

Today I kicked it up a notch! I did week 1 day 1 of a couch to 5K learn to run program :) It was even threatening to rain but I won't melt.
Now I may have to repeat some weeks 2,3 or more times but I'm o.k with that as I'm in no rush. I will say that today was pretty easy for me but I'm sure that won't last long.

I also plan to pick up some weights this week. Time to get these arms toned up a bit.

Breakfast: sweet potato, olive oil, beet greens, 2 eggs with fresh dill and grapefruit 7pp

Other: Organic 10% cream, xyla for sweetener and 2 Tbsp plain kefir 4pp

Not very hungry for lunch but wanted something before I go to work: plain greek yogurt, peach, hemp seeds and 1 tsp local wildflower honey 5pp

At work: low sodium canned tuna, home made mayo, veggies, blueberries 20g raw almonds and a square of dark chocolate 10pp

A light bulb moment

Something interesting for today.
We each know our own bodies once we learn to listen to it. Especially if we're not hooked on sugar/junk. Foods taste so much better now. Foods with no sauce needed. I rarely put salt on anything.

Any way getting back to what I found out this past week.
I'm a number person which is why I still love to keep track and when things happen that don't make sense I like to investigate as to why.

I've been tracking my weight daily for quite a while and the numbers don't bother me. The only one I really rely on is the Sunday morning weigh in.

So last week I'm tracking my weight and I notice something interesting. One day I was up point 1, the next day up point .2 and the next .4. While it doesn't bother me I want to find out why it was doing that especially since I'm on track and working out.

On a piece of paper I decided to track my sodium for the last week. Now I know I'm sodium sensitive and I even have to take a water pill for it. In Canada the number they want you to keep under is 1500mg/day and I don't go over that.

Anyway back to the tracking of my sodium. Each of the days that my weight was up my sodium was either in the 1,300 or 1200 range. When I averaged other days I'm normally in the 700-800 mg range.

So the day after these gains my sodium was 776 and guess what? The next day my weight was down point 7.

Now I know that tracking sodium isn't for everyone but since I have high blood pressure or at least did last time I was at a Dr. I do need to track this as extra fluid is not a great thing for me. And I'm not talking about drinking water which I do a lot of :) Sorry for the ramble but things like this I find interesting. Sometimes you need to take the time and see what works or if it isn't why isn't it?

I did get out on a 35 minute walk although it was threatening to rain any moment.

A fishy kind of day!

That's right I had fish for lunch and dinner today! I should get a star :)

Another very hot day here today but Ralph and I did get out on a 40 minute bike ride. Glad he talked me into getting out.

Lunch: tuna salad stuffed endive, tomato, cucumber, and cantaloupe ice cream :) no it was just some frozen cantaloupe chunks and plain Greek yogurt with a pinch of stevia whipped in my bullet! 5pp

Dinner: Arctic char bbq'd, salad, lemon vinaigrette and blueberries 7pp
